For his research on ”Mixed Integer Optimization as a Service“, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Koch (ZIB/TUB) has received a Google Faculty Research Award.
Prof. Koch is head of the department Scientific Information at ZIB and teaches “Software and Algorithms for Discrete Optimization“ at TU Berlin. His research is an integral part of ZIB’s focus areas in the field of complex data-intensive processes like those investigated at Research Campus MODAL (Mathematical Optimization and Data Analysis Laboratories) and BBDC (Berlin Big Data Center).
